Oh, you've heard it all before? Well, prepare to get seriously silly, because Marcus Peblo has been reborn into the modern age. Now a young man living in suburban America, Marcus lives a double life as the chosen hatchling of a mysterious space-feather of hope, and as a member of an unbelieving family who thinks his perfectly mundane imagination is merely running amok. The urge to freedom, the urge to inspiration, and the urge to make it home in time for supper all share center stage as powers of all types exert their resources to understand the life of a single boy named Peblo...

From the instant of his birth, Marcus is confronted by grave threats – the United States military is out to destroy his vintage hat, a god-like chicken takes him on a yo-yo-like tour of the outer limits, and drippy devils accost him in the wee hours of the morning. With the help of his Mystery Gift, he travels through time to see his connections to the past, evades capture by ruthless Men In Black, and travels the world. The sentient Mystery Gift key returns to unlock the secrets in his mind, and heaven and nature sing, much to the distraction and frustration of a dark alliance which seems to act mindlessly with no other goal than to use high technology to frustrate Marcus's freedom...
